De Anza Picks Up Three Wins in Four Matches

The De Anza College women's volleyball team turned in a strong opening September weekend, winning three of four matches at non-conference tri-matches.

Friday at Modesto

The Mountain Lions started the weekend in style with a sweep of Folsom Lake (25-21, 25-18, 25-19), showing balance on both sides of the ball. In their second match of the day, De Anza faced host Modesto, falling 3-0 despite battling in each set.

Saturday at Home

Back on their home court, Mountain Lions showed resilience in a thrilling five-set victory over Sacramento City. After dropping the opening set 25-13, DA regrouped to take the next two sets 25-21 and 25-18. Sacramento City forced a deciding set with a narrow 25-23 win, but De Anza closed the match with a 15-11 finish to secure the 3-2 victory.

The Mountain Lions capped the weekend with a dominant sweep of Napa Valley (25-12, 25-15, 25-19), controlling the match from start to finish.

Building Momentum

With three victories in four matches, De Anza displayed early-season promise and momentum heading into the rest of their non-conference schedule.
