Mountain Lions Sweep Final Tri-Match

 

The De Anza College women's volleyball team turned in a dominant performance on the road Wednesday, sweeping both Columbia and San Francisco in straight sets to complete a perfect day.

 

  • Match 1: De Anza 3, Columbia 0 (25–20, 25–15, 25–9)

    • Ajla Cakisic led the attack with 14 kills and 3 aces for a match-high 17 points.

    • Sophia Quach added 13 kills on a .500 hitting percentage, while Brianna Dalzochio added 6 kills and 3 blocks.

    • Setter Ava Hudnut dished out 4 assists and added 2 service aces, and libero CC Bonnard anchored the defense with 7 digs.

  • Match 2: De Anza 3, San Francisco 0 (25–5, 25–15, 25–14)

    • Cakisic again paced the Mountain Lions with 11 kills and 5 service aces, finishing with 16 points.

    • Quach delivered 7 kills on .350 hitting, while Dalzochio finihsed with 6 kills.

    • Hudnut ran the offense with 30 assists and added 2 aces.

    • Bonnard and Jocelyn Balderas combined for 11 digs, keeping the defense solid throughout the sweep.

       

Other Notes:

  • Cakisic powered the offense across both matches, finishing with 25 kills and 8 service aces on the day.

  • Quach was highly efficient, hitting .500 in the opener and .350 in the second match.

  • Dalzochio provided consistency at the net with a combined 12 kills.

  • Hudnut tallied 34 total assists and 4 aces to guide the attack.

  • The Mountain Lions' defense, led by Bonnard (15 digs on the day), kept opponents to single-digit kills in both matches.

 

De Anza (9-9 on the season) returns to action next week as they host CCSF on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 5 p.m.
