Lions Finish Third In Coast-South

The De Anza College men's soccer team (11-4-4) wrapped up its regular season in strong fashion, earning a 3-0 shutout victory over Chabot College on Tuesday afternoon at home.

The Mountain Lions controlled possession throughout the match, scoring twice in the first 20 minutes and adding a late insurance goal to seal the win.

With a 7-3-3 record, DA finished third in the tough Coast Conference South Division, behind Evergreen Valley and West Valley.

Fast Start Sets the Tone

De Anza came out attacking from the opening whistle, with Alexis Preciado getting the Lions on the board in the 16th minute off an assist from Keven "Peewee" Orocio.

Just four minutes later, Orocio struck again - this time unassisted - to double the lead and give De Anza a commanding advantage heading into halftime.

Balanced Attack and Stifling Defense

The Mountain Lions' offensive pressure never let up, as Lucas Spencer added a third goal in the 85th minute, assisted by Brady Tessin, to cap the 3–0 win.

Orocio led the way with four shots (three on goal), one goal, and one assist, while Preciado and Spencer each found the back of the net once. Tessin added an assist and was active in the midfield, contributing to several scoring chances.

Defensively, goalkeeper Carlos Balthazar was sharp once again, recording one save and earning the shutout in a full 90-minute performance.

Strong Finish to the Regular Season

De Anza concludes its regular season with three straight wins; and an impressive home record of 6-0-3.

The Lions will wait for the 3C2A postseason announcement later this week.
